Here’s the idea. You turn up with your bottle of wine, choose a piece of ready-made pottery, sit down primary school style with a load of painting materials in front of you, and away you go! Some of us painted plates, some decorated bowls, some embellished mugs, some adorned dishes and some coloured in figurines. It really didn’t matter how arty you were, it was just a really enjoyable evening out with friends. A week later, after glazing, we proudly collected our masterpieces ready for display at the Tate Modern. Well, not quite.
